York, together we are stronger.
The Confronting Racism Coalition brings York County together to break down systemic racial barriers and build a community where differences are valued and equity prevails. We don’t shy away from the work — it’s in our name. But we believe that work begins by sitting at the table with one another.

Our Mission
To create sustainable change by breaking down systemic racial barriers and promoting healing, equity, and inclusion for all.
Our Vision
York County is a place where differences are valued and equity prevails.
Our Values
Trust
We commit to trusting ourselves, each other, and our community through personal integrity, honest and transparent communication, courageous conversations, and intentional inclusion of different lived experiences.
Respect
We lead with patience, presence, and perseverance. Through our community agreements, we listen with understanding, humility, and empathy.
Relationships
We center connection over productivity, grace over being right, and curiosity about one another. We check in at the start of every meeting and build connections well beyond formal meeting times. We are devoted to being a place of connection and convening for all.
Appreciation
We take time to celebrate our wins, big and small, and to show gratitude to one another for the work we share.
Personal Growth
We grow and evolve together by giving and receiving feedback, staying curious, and taking risks. We’re committed to individual healing and self-awareness that helps us break old habits and move toward our collective vision.
Who We Are
The Confronting Racism Coalition exists to create sustainable change by breaking down systemic racial barriers and promoting healing, equity, and inclusion for all.
We’re clear about what we’re here to do — our name says it plainly. But confronting racism isn’t about pushing people away. It’s about bringing them in. We come from a place of being willing to sit at the table with anyone, while staying grounded in the values that guide us: trust, respect, relationships, appreciation, and personal growth.
We believe lasting change happens at the speed of trust. So we lead with relationships — prioritizing connection over productivity, offering grace over being right, and staying curious about one another. We hold courageous conversations. We celebrate our wins, big and small. And we show up for each other beyond the meeting room.
A stronger York isn’t built by being right. It’s built on relationships.
